In Ukraine, citizens will automatically be registered for military service upon reaching the age of 17. The Rada supported the corresponding bill in its first reading.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"Today, the parliament endorsed an important bill in its first reading, which allows citizens of Ukraine to automatically register for military service upon turning 17," said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
According to him, young men will no longer need to go to military recruitment centers or undergo a medical examination. They will simply need to complete identification in "Reserv+", after which the application will automatically generate a military registration document.
The minister believes that this is another step towards transitioning military registration into a convenient digital format.
"We are making government services as accessible and transparent as possible for Ukrainians. Thank you to the members of parliament for supporting this important initiative," he emphasized.
It should be noted that in October, Ukraine suspended the process of exemption from mobilization. Following this, the government conducted an audit of enterprises that had critical status and could reserve employees.
Subsequently, several conditions for exemption in Ukraine were changed.
