This morning, February 9, a Russian military ship has been detected in the waters of the Black Sea, deployed by the aggressor nation for combat duty. The vessel is equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing data from the Ukrainian Armed Forces Navy.
Military sources clarified that this enemy ship is capable of launching a total of up to 4 missiles in case of an attack.
Meanwhile, in the Sea of Azov, Russian ships have still not been observed, as has been the case for an extended period.
The Ukrainian Navy also reported that as of six in the morning, 6 enemy ships were spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, of which 2 are carriers of Kalibr missiles, with a total launch capability of up to 22 missiles.
According to the military, over the past day, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
The Ukrainian Navy has once again stated that the aggressor nation continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 by disabling automatic identification systems.
Earlier, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, mentioned that the Kalibr missiles used by Russia are no longer as effective a weapon against Ukraine as they used to be. Their effectiveness has significantly decreased.
It is also worth noting that this week, the Center for National Resistance reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are monitoring the movement of Russian ships that are evacuating weaponry from Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime. This operation involves sanctioned vessels from the "shadow fleet".
