The aim of the reform is to prevent significant errors in textbooks, such as the recent incident where a 7th-grade Ukrainian language textbook failed to include Crimea in its maps.
Kuzmicheva emphasized that while this mistake was particularly glaring, there were other inaccuracies as well.
She noted that many textbooks do not align with the principles of the New Ukrainian School, making only superficial changes while retaining outdated methodologies.
A key innovation in the new process is the requirement for textbooks to undergo review in schools before mass printing. Teachers will provide feedback on these materials, which will allow for corrections and improvements to ensure they meet the standards of the New Ukrainian School and minimize the risk of errors.
