Телеграф сообщает, что Лондон утверждает, что Путин может осуществить кибератаки на Великобританию.

The Russian Federation is prepared to launch a wave of cyberattacks on the United Kingdom. In turn, these attacks could leave millions of people without power.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Telegraph.

The publication specifies that the relevant warning will be made by British Cabinet Minister Pat McFadden at a NATO conference on Monday.

He will state that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is ready and capable of delivering a "destabilizing and debilitating" electronic strike against Britain.

"Russia is 'exclusively aggressive and reckless in cyberspace' and seeks to gain a 'strategic advantage and humiliate the states that support Ukraine'," the publication quotes what is expected in the official's speech.

In addition, McFadden will highlight the imminent threat of a Russian cyberattack on British infrastructure and businesses, which could "lead to power outages" and deliver a devastating blow to the economy.

Speaking at the NATO cybersecurity conference in London on Monday, he will add that over the past year, Russian military forces and their "unofficial army of cybercriminals and hacktivists have not only intensified their attacks but also expanded their targets to include several NATO member states and partners."

"In Britain, Russia has targeted our media, our telecommunications, our political and democratic institutions, and our energy infrastructure. Military force is one thing. But cyber warfare can be destabilizing and exhausting. Through cyberattacks, Russia could cut power for millions of people. It can disable power grids. This is a covert war that Russia is waging against Ukraine," McFadden will say.

The warning comes just days after Putin stated that his army could strike the UK in response to Ukraine's use of British-made Storm Shadow missiles.

Recall that on Thursday, November 21, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia allegedly delivered a combined strike on a defense facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. According to him, this was a response to the permissions granted by Ukraine's Western partners, particularly the US and the UK, to strike Russian territory.

Putin asserts that a test of Russia's latest medium-range missile system was conducted and that a ballistic missile "Oreshnik" was launched, but without nuclear warhead. Ukrainian military forces, in turn, reported that the enemy attacked Dnipro with an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Astrakhan region.
