Mike Tyson and Jake Paul finally faced off in a highly anticipated match. The 27-year-old blogger won the eight-round bout by unanimous decision from the judges.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing the live broadcast of the fight, which took place on the morning of November 16.
In front of a packed crowd at the AT&T arena in Arlington, Texas, which holds 65,000 spectators, Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), regarded as one of the most ferocious knockout artists in boxing history, went head-to-head with the young and ambitious heavyweight boxer Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs).

Tyson won the first two rounds but lost all subsequent rounds on points (80-72, 79-73, 79-73). Thus, youth triumphed over experience.

There is a significant age difference between the boxers—over 30 years (the “Iron Mike” is 58, while his opponent is just 27). Moreover, the two stars also differ noticeably in size (Tyson's height is 178 cm, reach is 180 cm; Jake's height is 185 cm, reach is 193 cm).

Tyson last fought in an official match nearly 20 years ago. In 2005, the American faced Irish middleweight Kevin McBride. Fans and sports experts were astounded when Mike refused to continue after the sixth round. After a strong start, Tyson ran out of steam, could not continue, and retired from boxing right in the ring.
However, after that, "The Baddest Man on the Planet" (another nickname for Tyson) returned to the ring for an exhibition match. In 2020, he boxed against another legend of the sport—Roy Jones. That night ended in a draw, although Mike was more active and held the initiative throughout the bout. It is worth noting that Jake Paul also fought that night, knocking out basketball player Nate Robinson.
Interestingly, the fight with Tyson was already Paul's third this year! In the spring, he technically knocked out American Ryan Boulware in the first round, and in the summer, he defeated another fellow countryman, Mike Perry, needing just six rounds to do so.
The bout on November 16 was notable for being scheduled for eight rounds of two minutes each, with heavier gloves on the boxers that offered better protection against injuries.
The match between the legendary boxer and the young blogger (notably, the duel was originally scheduled for July 20 of this year but was postponed due to Tyson's worsening stomach ulcer) became one of the hottest topics in the boxing world in 2024.
This can be attributed to the fact that, for many boxing fans, Tyson is a legend who inspired them during their childhood. The opportunity to see him in the ring again is certainly a significant event.

Additionally, as practice shows, a fight between an experienced veteran and a young upstart always attracts attention. This time, no one could confidently predict the winner leading up to the match.
Of course, the active promotion of the fight on social media made it even more popular. It is no surprise that millions tuned in to watch the fight live on Netflix.
At the same time, the Tyson vs. Paul fight sparked many controversial opinions among experts and fans. Some criticized the event from the start for commercializing boxing. However, in reality, this clash was official, and its result counted for both athletes.

It should also be noted that the Tyson-Paul fight became one of the most lucrative boxing events of the year. Both boxers earned significant sums of money. Just before the fight, Jake claimed he expected to make 40 million dollars that evening, while media reports indicated each boxer would receive 20 million.
However, in one interview, Tyson stated that he was not doing this for the money but to "just challenge himself." According to the legendary fighter, nothing will change in his life after this bout: he will continue to appear on various talk shows, act in films, and cultivate marijuana on his farm in Nevada, of which he is a part-owner.
Jake was born on January 17, 1997, in Cleveland, Ohio. From a young age, he displayed creative talents and an interest in entertainment. He gained popularity through short videos on the Vine platform, where he created funny and provocative clips. He appeared in several TV series, including the well-known children's sitcom "Bizaardvark."

The transition from entertainment to professional boxing was unexpected for many. Jake began challenging prominent athletes from other sports to fights, which generated significant buzz, brought him substantial profits, and elevated his popularity to a new level, making Paul globally recognized. Jake is now a successful blogger, with over 27 million followers on Instagram. He also owns MVP, a company that organizes his fights and those of other boxers, and invests in various business ventures outside of boxing.

He was born in a poor neighborhood of New York, where he faced street brutality from an early age. Boxing became not just a sport for him but a means of survival.
He debuted in the professional ring at a young age and quickly conquered the boxing world. He became the youngest world champion in boxing history, holding titles from the WBC, WBA, and IBF.
In his prime, he was known for his explosive punching power, speed, and aggressive pressure. His defense was based on constantly pressuring his opponent.

After a series of brilliant victories, Tyson went through a period of personal issues and scandals, negatively impacting his career.
Notably, during a title fight in 1997, Mike bit off a part of his opponent Evander Holyfield's ear. He was also convicted of the rape of an 18-year-old girl, struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for a long time, frequently made headlines over public disputes with his wives, fought in nightclubs, and even once attacked a passenger on a plane.
Despite all the ups and downs, "Iron Mike" remains one of the most recognized and respected figures in the world of boxing.
