Occupants launched missile and drone attacks on Ukraine last night: here's how the air defense responded.
Last night, Russian invaders utilized missiles and strike drones for airstrikes against Ukraine. The air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down nearly forty enemy UAVs over nine regions.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian Air Attacks
It is noted that the Russian army launched two guided aviation missiles, X-59 and X-31P, targeting the Odessa region on the night of November 6. The launch was carried out from the Black Sea.
In addition, the enemy launched a total of 63 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and unidentified drones towards Ukraine. The launches originated from Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel (in Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).
Air Defense Operations
In response to the Russian air attack, the following were engaged:
- anti-aircraft missile troops,
- aviation,
- electronic warfare units,
- mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
What is Known About the Shootdowns
The Air Force Command reported that as of 07:30, 38 enemy UAVs have been confirmed shot down over the territories of nine regions, namely:
- Odessa,
- Mykolaiv,
- Kyiv,
- Sumy,
- Kirovohrad,
- Zhytomyr,
- Cherkasy,
- Chernihiv,
- Zaporizhzhia regions.
The military added that 20 enemy drones were lost in various regions of Ukraine. Additionally, two more Russian UAVs are still in the country's airspace, and air defense operations are ongoing.
Shahed Attacks
It was previously reported that on the evening of November 5, the Russian invaders launched kamikaze drones towards Ukraine for yet another air attack.
As a result, air alerts were declared in several regions of Ukraine. Furthermore, there was an alert in Kyiv last night.
Additionally, enemy drones were also shot down in the Kyiv region, where air defense operations continued due to the detection of "Shaheds".
