This assistance is part of a broader initiative to support retirees living in regions affected by current or potential military actions, and it will remain in effect until the end of 2024.
The amount of aid is calculated based on the difference between 3250 hryvnias and the individual's current pension. For instance, a retiree receiving 2400 hryvnias will receive an additional 850 hryvnias. This sliding scale ensures that those with lower pensions receive higher supplementary payments.
To be eligible, recipients must:
Have a monthly pension of 3250 hryvnias or less.
Reside in areas deemed high-risk according to Order No. 309.
Not receive any other forms of assistance from the government or charitable organizations since March 1, 2023.
These payments will be processed automatically using data from the Pension Fund records, meaning retirees do not need to submit any applications. Whether this program will continue in 2025 depends on future decisions by donors and available funding.
