If a minor engages in behavior that violates the law, the first offense results in a warning or a fine ranging from 850 to 1700 UAH.

If similar behavior occurs again within a year, the fine increases to 1700–5100 UAH. This applies to parents whose children aged 14 to 16 commit actions that may be considered criminal or related to administrative offenses.

Additionally, the Ukrainian government, through Resolution No. 684 dated September 13, 2017, mandates schools to keep track of student attendance. If a student under 18 is absent from school for 10 consecutive working days without a valid reason, the school must report this to the local branch of the National Police and the Child Services.

This measure ensures the protection of children's rights to education and makes efforts to investigate and address issues of prolonged absence.

Absences are justified only with a valid medical certificate or a written explanation from the parents or legal guardians of the student (or from the student themselves if they are of legal age). These records are kept in the student's personal file throughout the academic year.

Furthermore, Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education" requires parents to actively support their child's progress in the educational program, assisting them in achieving the expected learning outcomes.
