According to two sources, on Wednesday, August 6, Xi congratulated Trump during their phone call regarding his success in the presidential elections in America.
Meanwhile, when journalists inquired about the call, the Chinese embassy in Washington stated that they had nothing to offer (likely meaning "nothing to say").
It is worth noting that Donald Trump was also congratulated by several other world leaders. Notably, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and other leaders.
