The elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has officially appointed Republican representative Mike Waltz as his national security advisor.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN.

"Congressman Mike Waltz has been appointed to serve as my national security advisor. Mike is the first Green Beret elected to Congress and has previously worked in the White House and the Pentagon," Trump stated.

He emphasized that his future national security advisor is an "expert on threats from China, Russia, Iran, and global terrorism."

"Mike has been a staunch supporter of my foreign policy program 'America First' and will be a great advocate for our pursuit of peace through strength!" the elected President of the United States noted.

Recall that earlier, Reuters reported that the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, had chosen Michael Waltz as his national security advisor. However, there was no official confirmation at that time.
