In particular, Trump expressed condolences to all those who lost friends and relatives in the tragedy.

"For the families in Wichita, Kansas, here in Washington, D.C., and across the United States," he said.

According to the U.S. President, "unfortunately, there was a contingent of very talented Russian individuals" on the plane.

"It's very, very, very sad for those whose loved ones were on board this passenger plane," he added.

Trump stated that the U.S. would return the remains of the Russians who died in the crash to Russia, but he did not discuss the incident with the Kremlin leader.

"No, I didn't talk to him. Not about this," Trump replied when asked by reporters if he had communicated with Putin regarding the aviation disaster.

Aviation Disaster of the Plane and Helicopter Near Washington

On January 29, an aviation accident occurred near Washington. A Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft from American Airlines collided with a Black Hawk helicopter.

There were more than 60 people on board the plane. In particular, members of the Russian figure skating team were in the cabin.
