A poacher has been caught in Kharkiv region, causing over 33,000 UAH in damage to Ukraine's fishery.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Fish Protection Patrol, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to inspectors, on October 21 at around 11:00 PM, near the Pechenihy Dam in the Chuhuiv district, the patrol spotted a man fishing with a net made of forest materials from a boat at the Pechenihy Reservoir.
He illegally caught the following fish: 13 bleak, 12 redfin, 8 roach, and one flatfish. The total weight of the illegally harvested aquatic biological resources amounted to 1.55 kg.
A protocol was drawn up against the man under Part 4 of Article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The damage caused to Ukraine's fishery was 33,949 UAH.
The Kharkiv Fish Protection Patrol urges citizens to comply with the requirements of current environmental legislation.
