On the night of October 26, explosions were heard in Kyiv. The military had warned that "Shaheds" were heading towards the capital.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing its own correspondent.
The explosions were audible around 00:30. Prior to that, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned that strike drones from the Chernihiv region were flying towards Kyiv. This information was also confirmed by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
"Attention! UAV threat to the capital! Head to shelter," wrote Serhiy Popko, head of the KCMA, at 00:12.
The air raid alert in Kyiv was lifted. However, it should be noted that the threat of drone attacks continues in some other regions.
The mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushin, wrote in his Telegram that the debris from a downed UAV caused a fire in an uninhabited building in the city.
"As of 01:00, there are no casualties. All services are on site, extinguishing the fire and clearing the debris," he added.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KRMA) also reported preliminary consequences of the UAV attack in the region.
In particular, they confirmed that due to the debris from the downed enemy drones, a fire occurred in a two-story garage attached to a hostel in one of the settlements.
"The fire is currently contained. No information about casualties has been received. Rescuers are on site. The air raid alert continues. We ask everyone to stay in shelters," the message stated.
As of 00:35, the air raid alert is ongoing in the city of Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions. Additionally, the Luhansk region and occupied Crimea have been marked in red for several months.
Recall that a few hours ago, on the evening of October 25, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Kyiv using drones. As a result of the enemy attack, the upper floors of a multi-story building were damaged. Furthermore, there are reports of five injured and one deceased.
