A scheduled bus traveling from Kyiv to Chișinău was involved in an accident on Moldovan territory. As a result of the incident, there are injuries reported.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Moldovan agency NewsMaker.
The accident occurred near the village of Peresecino, 30 kilometers from Chișinău, as stated by the press secretary of the district police, Elena Beetreu.
According to one of the bus passengers, the driver fell asleep at the wheel and lost control. Consequently, the bus veered off the road. The police, however, indicated that the circumstances of the accident are being investigated, but reported that the bus crashed into a metal barrier and a road sign before leaving the roadway.
According to police data, two passengers—a man and a woman—were injured in the accident. They were taken to the hospital for assistance. The bus driver was tested for alcohol and was found to be sober.
It is worth noting that last week in Germany, there was an accident involving a Flixbus. The bus, carrying 13 passengers, was en route from Berlin to Szczecin, Poland, when it veered off the road and overturned. Preliminary reports suggest that the accident was caused by poor weather conditions.
German media reported that a Ukrainian citizen died as a result of this accident. However, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry did not confirm this information at that time, as the body had not yet been identified.
