The Air Force units, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, struck storage facilities for "Shahed" strike drones in the Oryol region of the Russian Federation. Approximately 200 drones will no longer be able to attack Ukraine.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Telegram from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the report, as a result of the Ukrainian attack, reinforced structures where thermobaric warheads used by the drones were stored were hit. In particular, there is information about a significant secondary detonation.
"The results and extent of the damage are being clarified, but preliminary information indicates that more than 200 'Shaheds' will no longer be used against our country," the report states.
The General Staff added that combat operations targeting key facilities involved in the destruction of Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and the terror of the peaceful population will continue.
Recall that on January 21, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked a number of important Russian facilities. Two of these were located directly on the territory of the Russian Federation.
In particular, Ukrainian drones targeted the "Liskinskaya" oil depot in the Voronezh region. As a result of the strike, tanks containing lubricants, which the enemy provides to its troops, were set ablaze.
Additionally, infrastructure at the "Smolensk Aviation Plant" JSC in the Smolensk region was attacked. There, the enemy was modernizing and producing combat aircraft.
