In the tiny New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch, voting for the presidential election has concluded. Candidates for the White House, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, each received three votes.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN.
Four Republicans and two independent voters participated in the voting.
It is noted that the town closed its polling station immediately after midnight, following a tradition that dates back to 1960.
According to the 2010 census, the town had a population of only 12 people. During elections, this location traditionally attracts media attention, as its residents are the first to announce their voting results.
In the last two presidential elections, the residents of Dixville Notch cast their votes in favor of the Democratic Party candidate. In 2020, all five voters in the town unanimously voted for Joe Biden, while in 2016, four out of seven votes went to Hillary Clinton. The remaining votes were split between Donald Trump, who received two, and Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, who received one vote.
On Tuesday, November 5, the United States is holding its next presidential election. The main candidates in the race for the position are Kamala Harris from the Democratic Party and Donald Trump representing the Republican Party.
According to the latest polls, the ratings of both candidates are nearly equal. The key states for determining the winner will be the seven so-called "swing states" – regions where voters frequently shift their support between candidates of different parties.
