The UK has delivered 95% of the promised weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since July. The situation remains critical, which is why partners must act swiftly in assisting Kyiv.
This was stated by the British Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris, in an interview with RBK-Ukraine.
Harris noted that he understands there are times when questions arise about whether partners are providing all the support they promised. In the case of the UK, Defense Minister John Healey, who took office with the new government, initiated a new process to ensure that the AFU received all the supplies that London promised to expedite in July.
"We know the situation is critical, and partners must act quickly with support for Ukraine. What we promised, we delivered, we did," Harris added.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the UK has become one of Ukraine's leading partners in defense and security. The British government provides a wide range of military equipment to Ukraine, including long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
In addition to military equipment, the UK is training Ukrainian soldiers on its territory.
Moreover, in early October, London provided Kyiv with £3.5 billion (approximately $4.5 billion) for the purchase of modern military equipment from British manufacturers.
