Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with Donald Trump. The Ukrainian leader noted that their discussion was excellent and they have reached agreements.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a post from the president on social media X (formerly Twitter).
"I had a wonderful phone conversation with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic and convincing victory - this result was made possible by his impressive campaign. I acknowledged his family and team for their great work," the president stated.
Zelensky added that he and Trump agreed to maintain close dialogue and "develop our cooperation" between their countries.
"Strong and unwavering U.S. leadership is vital for peace and for a just world," the head of state emphasized.
We remind you that about two months ago, Trump stated that on the very night his victory was announced, he would call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, after which "we will reach an agreement within 24 hours." This referred to ending the war in Ukraine in just one day, a promise Trump made several times during his election campaign.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that Zelensky congratulated Trump on his election victory on the morning of November 6, publishing a post on social media X. In his post, the president emphasized that he values the Republican's commitment to the "peace through strength" approach, which "can truly bring about a just peace in Ukraine."
In the same publication, the head of state added that our country expects an "era of strong U.S." under President Trump's leadership and also hopes for continued robust bipartisan support for Ukraine.
