During the broadcast of Vechir.LIVE, Ignatiev emphasized the urgent need for at least 150 MW of generating capacity to maintain emergency power supply for essential services in Kyiv.
He warned that stable electricity supply is crucial, especially considering the anticipated shortages due to factors such as energy deficits or potential shelling.
In such scenarios, adequate capacity is vital for circulating heat in homes, as it powers the systems that deliver the heating medium. Unfortunately, Ignatiev confirmed that neither Kyiv nor Lviv is fully prepared for these challenges.
“Kyiv and Lviv are facing the threat of blackouts ahead of winter,” said the head of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, according to the report.
