According to the official, the Cabinet of Ministers recently denied gas distribution system operators the status of critical enterprises, which would have allowed them to reserve key personnel.
He described this decision as yet another erroneous move by the government and expressed serious concern about its potential consequences.
Gorcharenko questioned how Ukrainians would cope if gas networks were left without proper maintenance. He emphasized the lack of clarity regarding who would handle emergencies or respond to unforeseen issues, particularly in the event of attacks from Russia.
The people's deputy warned that facilities such as combined heat and power plants (CHPPs), boiler houses, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and residential buildings could be left without heating, significantly increasing the risk of large-scale accidents.
Gorcharenko stressed that such decisions could have catastrophic consequences and urged the government to carefully consider the potential fallout before implementing policies that could jeopardize critical infrastructure and public safety.
