In the coming months, there are risks of nuclear weapon proliferation in Iran. The United Kingdom and France are already developing strategies to address potential developments of such events.
According to RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the head of the French foreign intelligence service, Nicolas Lerner, as reported by Reuters.
"Our agencies are working side by side to counter what is undoubtedly one of the threats, if not the most critical threat, in the coming months – the possible proliferation of nuclear weapons in Iran," Lerner stated.
He mentioned that intelligence on the situation regarding Iran's nuclear weapons will be crucial. Following this, the authorities of several countries will be able to make informed decisions and determine appropriate strategies.
Previously, we reported that the Board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution demanding that Iran urgently enhance its cooperation with the agency and provide a "comprehensive" report. This document is allegedly aimed at prompting Tehran to engage in new nuclear negotiations.
