Italy is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine, which is likely to be approved by the end of 2024.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Reuters.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Italy has delivered nine military aid packages to Ukraine, including two SAMP/T air defense systems.
According to sources from the publication, the Italian government is expected to approve the 10th package by the end of December 2024.
However, Reuters' informants declined to provide details, as most information regarding weapon shipments is classified.
It is noted that the Italian government requires parliamentary approval to send weapons to Ukraine, which is valid until the end of 2024.
As a reminder, Italy has already provided Ukraine with nine military aid packages, including anti-aircraft missiles, artillery, and armored vehicles.
Additionally, it has been reported that Italy will supply SAMP/T to Ukraine as part of the new aid package.
At the same time, Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani recently stated that Italy's position on the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine remains unchanged. According to him, the weapons can only be used on Ukrainian territory.
