The "President" of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic (PMR), Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced that Russia will soon deliver gas to the unrecognized autonomy as "humanitarian aid." However, he did not specify the date or method of fuel delivery.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It is noted that from January 10 to 14, Krasnoselsky visited Moscow, where he held negotiations with the Russian Ministry of Energy regarding potential gas supplies to Transnistria.
Following the talks, the "head" of the unrecognized "republic" stated that Russia would provide Transnistria with a sufficient amount of gas for thermal energy, industrial enterprises, and civilian use.
At the same time, according to him, Russia will not supply gas to the rest of the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
Since January 1, Ukraine has completely halted the transit of Russian gas to Moldova and other European Union countries.
From that day, Transnistria has been left without heating and hot water. There are also interruptions in energy supply.
Stocks of coal in PMR warehouses are sufficient until the end of January.
Moldova has warned that the energy system of the "republic" may fail due to a severe shortage of electricity.
