On the night of February 9, Russia launched 151 drones at Ukraine. Air defense systems were engaged across 14 regions of Ukraine.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
The drones were launched from five locations in Russia: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The air defense forces managed to destroy 70 enemy drones. Air defense operations took place in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions.
An additional 74 enemy imitation drones were lost locally (without negative consequences). Two drones remained airborne.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy attack affected the Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Volyn regions.
It is known that explosions were heard in Lutsk and Odesa at night due to the operation of air defense systems.
In the Kyiv region, debris fell on the construction site of a multi-story building, causing damage. Debris was also recorded falling in open areas.
