On the night of January 16, a series of explosions occurred in the Tambov region (Russia) near the city of Kotovsk and the village of Kuzmino-Gat, where a powder factory is located. Air defense systems are operational in the region.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel Mash and local social media.
Russian media state that the drone attack on the Tambov region last night is "massive." The Russian side attributes the airstrike to Ukraine.
Additionally, Russian social media reports suggest that UAVs of airplane type were moving "towards the powder factory in the village of Kuzmino-Gat."
Tambov Telegram channels also claim that several explosions occurred in Kotovsk, allegedly with air defense systems in operation.
According to local social media, drones began attacking the Tambov region starting at 00:40.
Furthermore, Russian media reported explosions in Kuzmino-Gat as well.
Tambov social media also discuss the downing of UAVs as a result of air defense operations in the region.
Meanwhile, local authorities have yet to make any statements regarding the situation in the Tambov region in light of the air attack.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Russian side reported a drone strike on the Tambov region on the night of January 15, which resulted in a fire at a distillery located in the village of Novaya Lyada due to the air attack.
