Russian authorities are attempting to conceal the incident involving drone attacks in Chechnya. This attack may be linked to the recent crash of a passenger plane in Kazakhstan.
СМИ сообщают, что в России пытаются замять информацию о drone-атаке на Чечню после крушения самолета в Казахстане.

The Russian authorities are attempting to conceal the fact of a drone attack in Chechnya. This attack may be linked to the crash of a passenger plane in Kazakhstan.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing "Agency. News" on Telegram.

According to the publication, Chechen authorities have not acknowledged the drone strike on the region even 10 hours after the attack. Only one mention of this incident was found in government agencies and Telegram channels associated with security forces, along with an attempt to deny it.

In particular, posts from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which usually boasts about the "destruction of Ukrainian drones," do not mention attacks on regions in the Caucasus.

Meanwhile, a post on Ksenia Sobchak's Telegram channel "Bloody Lady" claimed that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya denies any attempts of a drone attack on Grozny.

Notably, Russian authorities initially tried to cover up the attack on neighboring North Ossetia as well. However, later the head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, stated that debris from drones allegedly fell on a shopping center in Vladikavkaz.

"According to the Ministry of Defense, a UAV attack was carried out on several regions of the North Caucasian Federal District," the official from the aggressor state asserted.

Crash of the Azerbaijani Plane

Recall that today, December 25, an "Azerbaijan Airlines" plane crashed in Kazakhstan, resulting in the deaths of 38 passengers. 29 people survived and were sent to hospitals.

The plane was flying from Baku to Grozny, but when it approached the capital of Chechnya, it did not land.

After the aviation disaster, information surfaced online indicating that damage had been found on the rear part of the plane, which could have occurred due to air defense operations.

At the same time, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, emphasized that the plane was shot down by a Russian surface-to-air missile system. He clarified that the Russians did not close the airspace over Grozny during the drone attack. At that moment, the "Azerbaijan Airlines" flight was en route there.
