This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing its own sources and Bild.

The German newspaper Bild was the first to report on Makeev's dismissal, referencing its own sources. According to the publication, Makeev's replacement is part of a regular rotation of numerous Ukrainian diplomats worldwide.

It is expected that the new ambassador of Ukraine to Germany will be Yevhen Korniychuk, who currently heads the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Israel.

"He will indeed be replaced," a source told RBK-Ukraine, commenting on the rumors about Makeev in the media.

What is known about Makeev

Oleksiy Makeev was born on November 25, 1975.

In 1996, he began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in the Department of Analysis and Planning/Political Department, focusing primarily on international security issues.

In 1997, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of International Relations, earning a degree as a specialist in international relations and as a Spanish language translator.

From 1999 to 2002, he worked in the political department of the Ukrainian embassy in the Swiss Confederation.

From 2005 to 2009, he served as an advisor at the Ukrainian embassy in Germany.

From 2014 to 2020, he held the position of political director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 2020 to 2022, he was the special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for sanctions policy.

On September 23, 2022, Makeev was appointed as Ukraine's ambassador to Germany.
