In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, a soldier of the 56th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valentin Kozlyuk, was killed at a military unit. His wife, Liya Moroz, reported that the murder was linked to his commander and a fellow soldier. The incident occurred because he refused to pay them "protection money." She shared this in her video address.
The murder took place last year, but the video of the woman's appeal has been widely circulated now.
Liya Moroz mentioned that the commander demanded money from her husband. Initially, he paid, but later he refused. Before the murder, he had been undergoing rehabilitation for some time, but returned to the unit on November 23 of last year, where he was subsequently shot.
Prior to this, in hopes of justice, Valentin asked his family to contact the State Bureau of Investigation, and according to information from friends of the soldier's family, plans were made to apprehend the suspects, but before that could happen, Valentin was shot. Before his murder, the man had been tortured.
To support her claims, the wife of the deceased released photographs of her husband taken after his death, showing signs of beating. She also presented the results of a forensic examination, which noted that the soldier died from a gunshot wound to the head.
"In the Donetsk region, a junior lieutenant of the 56th OMBr was detained on suspicion of murdering a soldier who had been fighting since the beginning of the war. The widow of the deceased stated in her public appeal that the conflict began after the deceased refused to pay money to the commander. According to the investigation, after prolonged abuse, the man was shot, and there were attempts to hide the body. The police have detained the suspects, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional Murder)," the SBI reported.
It is noted that the murder of Valentin Kozlyuk is being investigated by the National Police.
The woman claims that the suspect hired a good lawyer, and his wife mocks the family of the deceased.
"I want people to know that Tislenko killed his subordinate because those who know him are unaware of the crime he committed. His wife drives a luxury car with a smile and says, 'We have a lot of money, and we will hire the best lawyers.' I want to achieve fair punishment for him, so he doesn't buy his way out and return to his children. He killed my husband and left my daughter without a father," says Liya.
She added that seven people were involved in the internal investigation regarding her husband's murder. Initially, they gave one set of testimonies, which they later changed. Several of Valentin's fellow soldiers anonymously informed her that her husband was beaten by multiple individuals, not just the one suspect.
"Former soldiers who served alongside my husband and this scoundrel reached out to me, revealing that this monster had multiple incidents where he took cards and shot at soldiers," Liya states.
Let us remind you that in the Odessa region, a man will be tried for beating a soldier to death. Police established that the night before, he was resting at one of the establishments in Podolsk and left with another visitor.
