The purpose of the checks is to confirm whether people genuinely require basic assistance. Several hundred Ukrainian refugees, particularly those who have left Austria, are undergoing verification.

Additionally, working-age individuals must register with the public employment service to maintain their eligibility for assistance.
In Vienna alone, approximately 14,000 Ukrainian refugees receive basic support, including 8,000 minors. The monthly aid amounts to 260 euros for adults and 145 euros for children.
Families renting their own accommodation also receive an additional subsidy of 330 euros.
