Reservations made under the previous rules, which were in effect until December 1, 2024, will remain valid until February 28, 2025.
After this date, new regulations outlined in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 76 dated January 27, 2023, will take effect. This change will mark a significant deadline for businesses that reserved employees under the old system.
Businesses will need to confirm their critical status by the end of February to ensure the continuation of mobilization reservations under the updated criteria.
According to Dmitry Kisilevsky, a member of the parliamentary committee on economic development, companies can confirm their critical status starting December 2024.
By February 28, 2025, companies must take the necessary steps to ensure the renewal of their reservations. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to the cancellation of deferrals for many employees.
Sergey Smetanko from the Ministry of Economy estimated that around 20,000 companies currently qualify as "critical," but this number is expected to decrease in the spring as businesses adapt to the new process.
While the new system is unlikely to radically change the list of critical enterprises, it is clear that some exemptions will cease to apply after February 28, 2025. Therefore, companies must act swiftly to ensure the continuation of mobilization deferrals.
