The last revision of tariffs in Zhytomyr region took place in the summer of 2022, and since then, carriers have refrained from initiating any price increases due to the challenging circumstances in the country. However, with the rise in the cost of key components, operators have expressed concerns that the current tariff structure is no longer sustainable.

The statement highlighted several factors necessitating the adjustment of tariffs, including a 10% increase in fuel prices, as well as hikes in minimum wage and taxes.

These economic shifts, along with the rising costs of spare parts, tires, batteries, and other supplies needed for vehicle maintenance, have rendered the existing tariff system financially unviable.

Currently, the fare for public transport in Zviahel is 12 UAH, but carriers have indicated that the price may rise to cover these escalating expenses. While the exact figure has yet to be disclosed, neighboring cities serve as examples where fares have already increased to 15 UAH.

This situation reflects broader issues faced by local transport service providers as they grapple with rising operational costs.
