The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, considers the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to be an enemy. This stance is due to the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukrainian territory.
According to RBK-Ukraine, Fico's statement is reported by Dennik N.
Fico expressed dissatisfaction after Zelensky proposed to begin the transit of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. In his view, "nothing is ready, and no projects are being discussed on this matter."
The Slovak Prime Minister imagined that the Ukrainian president "is inflating bubbles because he thinks it will free him from difficult decisions."
"Our enemy is Zelensky. Zelensky has created the problems we have. I do not like him because he harms Slovakia," Fico added.
Additionally, during a meeting of the parliamentary economic committee, Fico again threatened to block the decision on providing aid to Ukraine. On Thursday, January 30, he plans to discuss gas supplies with the European Commission.
It should be noted that Fico was displeased with Ukraine's rejection of his requests to continue the transit of Russian gas in 2025. Since then, he has not stopped making threats.
In particular, the Slovak Prime Minister threatened to halt electricity exports to Ukraine.
He also promised that his country would significantly reduce aid to Ukrainian refugees currently in Slovakia due to the full-scale war in Ukraine.
