The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded citizens that pensions are not automatically assigned upon reaching the appropriate age. Instead, payments only begin after an application is submitted. Late submission of the application means that any unclaimed months will be forfeited.

To avoid missing out on payments, citizens must submit their pension applications no later than three months after reaching retirement age.

Applications can be submitted in one of three available ways:

Using the mobile app "Diia," which provides a quick and convenient option for online application submission.

Through the Pension Fund's web portal, where users can manage their applications remotely.

By visiting a local PFU office for personal assistance.

As of January 1, 2025, stricter requirements for pension provision will come into effect:

To retire at 60 years old, a minimum of 32 years of insurance experience is required.

ПФУ

Individuals with an insurance record of 22 to 31 years will be eligible for a pension at the age of 63.

If the total work experience is less than 15 years, a pension will not be granted. Instead, state social assistance will be available starting at 65 years old.

To prevent financial losses:

Submit your application without delay as soon as you reach retirement age.

Check your insurance history to ensure you meet the minimum contribution requirements.

Taking proactive steps today will help safeguard the financial stability you have earned throughout your working life. Don't let missed deadlines deprive you of the benefits you are entitled to.
