The United States of America (USA) is engaged in constructive negotiations regarding the full-scale war with Ukraine and the Russian Federation (RF).
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, referencing the 47th head of the White House, Donald Trump, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"We are having very good negotiations, very constructive negotiations regarding Ukraine. And we are in talks with the Russian and Ukrainian leadership," Trump stated.
In particular, the head of the White House expressed hope for a swift agreement.
President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Ukraine requires security guarantees before returning to the negotiation table, while the United States, in turn, is capable of forcing dictator Vladimir Putin to seek peace.
Following his inauguration, Trump had already threatened Russia with additional tariffs and sanctions if the Kremlin does not agree to a ceasefire agreement in the near future.
As noted by Russian opposition political scientist Abbas Gallyamov, the United States has sufficient leverage against Russia to compel the adversary to engage in dialogue.
During a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Zelensky also stated that he is ready to engage in dialogue with Putin, if that is the only option to bring peace to Ukraine.
The president also emphasized that excluding Ukraine from US and Russia negotiations to end the war would be "very dangerous".
