With the onset of the heating season in Ukraine, a special tariff has been introduced for those using electric heating.
From October 1 to April 30, the cost of 1 kWh of electricity is 2.64 UAH for consumption up to 2000 kWh. If consumption exceeds this amount, the price per kWh will be 4.32 UAH. These conditions apply to all consumers, including private homes, apartment buildings, dormitories, and garden and summer cottage cooperatives.
Multi-zone meters: how to save
For users with multi-zone meters, an additional benefit is available – the night tariff. For these consumers, the cost of electricity from 11 PM to 7 AM is only 2.16 UAH per kWh, which is half the daytime rate. This tariff remains in effect, allowing owners of two-zone meters to save on electricity consumed during nighttime hours.
Unified electricity tariff until April 2025
According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution No. 632 dated May 31, 2024, a unified fixed tariff for electricity has been established at 4.32 UAH per kWh for all residents of the country, regardless of consumption volume. This tariff will be effective until April 30, 2025, covering consumers from apartment buildings, private homes, and other facilities such as dormitories and summer cottage cooperatives.
What will happen to tariffs next?
The fixed tariff resolution expires in April 2025. Currently, discussions regarding a possible tariff increase are not taking place, and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine states that electricity tariffs will not change in the near future. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko noted that based on the calculations already obtained, the current tariff allows for balancing the financial situation in the energy sector without accumulating debts.
However, experience from previous years shows that discussions about tariff increases often begin in May, and the price of electricity typically rises during the summer.
