These changes, noted by the “Minfin” portal, are intriguing as they affect key components of the Ukrainian product basket and directly impact family budgets. Let’s take a look at the current prices of buckwheat, butter, and bread, and how they have changed as of January 22, 2025.

Butter: Slight Price Increase
In January, there was a slight increase in butter prices. For instance, "Selyanske" butter with a fat content of 72.5% (200 g) rose by an average of 90 kopecks, now costing 114.99 UAH. "Yagotynske" butter with a fat content of 73% (200 g) jumped by 2 UAH, increasing from 102.95 UAH to 104.95 UAH. Although these changes are minor, they are already felt by consumers.
Buckwheat: Stable Price
Buckwheat has maintained its stability in January. The average price for 1 kg remains at 33.02 UAH, consistent with December figures. However, the price range across different retail chains is quite significant: from 27.90 UAH in Auchan supermarkets to 40.00 UAH in Megamarket. This gives consumers the opportunity to choose where to buy buckwheat more economically.

Bread: Noticeable Price Increase
Among the three products, bread has shown the most significant price increase. Sliced wheat bread weighing 650 g has risen by 2.50 UAH, increasing from 37.49 UAH to 39.99 UAH. "Tsar Khleb" (600 g) has also seen a notable price hike — its cost increased by 3.92 UAH, from 36.57 UAH to 40.49 UAH. Such changes could have a substantial impact on family budgets, considering the popularity of bread in daily diets.
The rise in food prices, especially for bread and butter, raises questions about future market trends. Will prices stabilize in the coming months, or should we expect further increases? One thing is certain: monitoring prices and selecting advantageous offers remain essential strategies for Ukrainian consumers in the face of a changing food market.
