On the night of January 26, Russia launched 72 drones at Ukraine. The air defense forces shot down the majority of the enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

The occupiers launched drones from five locations in Russia: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As of 9:00 AM, the air defense forces had destroyed 50 strike drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, nine enemy decoy drones were locally lost (without negative consequences). One drone remains airborne.

The air defense was active in eight regions of Ukraine, specifically in Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi.

Consequences of the Russian Attack

During the night, the Russians attacked Kharkiv with drones. The strike occurred in the Osnovyanskyi district. As a result of the attack, windows and roofs of 12 private homes were damaged.

Also during the night, the occupiers struck the city of Sumy with drones. A building of one educational institution, an apartment block, and administrative buildings were damaged.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, a total of seven Russian drones were destroyed in the Sumy region that night.
