Information has surfaced on social media that during the farewell ceremony for a police officer who died as a result of a Russian strike, a child threw a snowball at the new chief of police in Kharkiv. The police have commented on this information.

According to "Dumka," the official statement was released by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast.

In particular, one of the Telegram channels reported that the police chief allegedly reacted inappropriately to the child throwing a snowball at him.

"In response, he called the investigative-operational group (SOG). Everyone was shocked, especially the team that was summoned to deal with the child for the snowball and demanded to hold the parents accountable. The juvenile police drew up a report on the child's parents,” the Telegram channel wrote.

In turn, the police provided a different version of events:

"The location of the farewell ceremony, which involved a large number of people, was under police protection to prevent terrorist acts. During the mourning event, unusual activity was noticed on the roof of the building. As part of the standard protocol to prevent unauthorized persons from being present, the police checked who was there and for what purpose. At the scene, the police found four individuals, including a 16-year-old boy. They were conducting repair work, and the minor was helping his brother. The police had a conversation with the identified individuals. The communications department added that the information was registered in the Unified Register, however, details of the incident were not entered into the State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and there are no plans to do so.

It is worth noting that on Friday, January 24, in Kharkiv, the last farewell was held for Colonel of Police, the head of the Personnel Support Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast, Igor Ivanchyshyn, who was injured as a result of a missile strike on November 1, 2024.
