Night attack by "Shaheds"

As previously reported, on the evening of January 28, the Russian forces launched several groups of strike drones towards Ukraine. Enemy UAVs, particularly of the "Shahed" type, were constantly maneuvering and moving in different directions over several regions.

RBK-Ukraine also reported on the operation of air defense systems in certain regions amid the enemy drone attack.

Additionally, mass "Shahed" attacks by Russian occupiers on Ukrainian cities are a frequent tactic of the enemy. For instance, on the night prior, the invaders launched a total of a hundred Shahed-type UAVs and imitation drones for strikes. The air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to destroy 65 of them, while another 28 imitation drones were lost without negative consequences, and 2 of them flew towards Russia and Belarus.

Due to the Russian drone attack, there were fires, power outages, destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine, resulting in casualties. For more details on the consequences of the "Shahed" attack on the night of January 28, read our separate article.
