Drones attacked the Volgograd region, leading to a fire at the oil refinery.

On the night of January 31, unidentified drones once again targeted several regions in Russia. Specifically, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the Volgograd region as a result of the attack.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Russian Telegram channels.

According to locals, the sounds of explosions, drone flyovers, and gunfire were heard around 3 a.m. local time. The SHOT channel noted that these sounds were detected near a local oil refinery in the Krasnoarmeysky district. Some other media outlets and public channels claim that the Lukoil oil refinery, located directly in Volgograd, was attacked. However, it is important to note that this information is still preliminary.

Official information regarding the attack only emerged closer to morning. The region's governor, Andrey Bocharov, confirmed that a fire occurred at the oil refinery but stated that it was due to the alleged "falling debris" from a UAV. Additionally, he did not specify which city was targeted in the attack.

"An attack by eight UAVs was repelled over the territory of the Volgograd region. As a result of debris from one of the UAVs, a fire broke out at the oil refinery, which was promptly extinguished," the governor stated.

Bocharov also claims that allegedly one worker was injured in the attack and was hospitalized.

Recall that yesterday, January 30, a distribution station "Novozybkov" of the Druzhba oil pipeline in the Bryansk region may have been attacked. At least, the ASTRA channel reported that drones attempted to target it.

Subsequently, footage of the fire in Novozybkov was shared online, and satellites also detected the fire near the Druzhba pipeline station.
