The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is aware of the detention of a Ukrainian citizen due to a "threat of a coup" in Slovakia. Diplomats are monitoring the situation closely.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is aware of the detention in Slovakia of a Ukrainian citizen born in 1966 on charges of 'threatening national security'," the statement reads.

According to the press service, the Ukrainian embassy in the Slovak Republic immediately established contact with the detained individual and their family, while consuls are providing the necessary support to the citizen, who also has a private lawyer.

"We insist on the necessity for the Slovak side to respect the legal rights and interests of the Ukrainian citizen. The Ukrainian embassy in the Slovak Republic has already contacted the relevant authorities in Slovakia to clarify the grounds for the detention," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, emphasizing that Ukrainian diplomats are keeping the matter under special control.

Meanwhile, the Slovak ambassador to Ukraine, Pavel Vizdalu, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This occurred in response to statements from Bratislava regarding an alleged 'interference' by Ukraine in Slovakia's affairs.
