However, as with any other endeavor, the proper preparation of this compost is essential. We won't leave you to tackle this question alone and will share an important secret with you.
There are quite a few opponents of this type of compost, who remind us of the diseases and pests that lurk in fallen leaves. But these troubles can be avoided.
What to Do
1. You will need black plastic bags and a solution of Trichoderma. The collected fallen leaves will decompose more quickly if you place them in black plastic bags instead of a pit or pile. They will heat up better and faster from sunlight. The decomposition process will also proceed more rapidly.
2. The leaves should be packed tightly into the bag, after which you should add the Trichoderma solution. This fungus not only speeds up the process of turning leaves into fertilizer but also eliminates bacteria and fungal spores.
3. Next, tie the bag, make 2-3 holes for ventilation, and leave the bags in the sun. If everything is done correctly, you will be able to obtain ready compost by the spring of the following year. It will be rich in humic compounds and essential microelements for the fertile layer of soil.
