The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated the leader of the Hamas terrorist network in the city of Tulkarm, along with a group of other terrorists, according to the IDF Telegram channel.

On Thursday, October 3, the Israeli army struck the Tulkarm area (a city in Palestine located on the West Bank of the Jordan River) and eliminated Zahi Yaser Abd al-Razeq Oufi, the head of the Hamas terrorist network in the city.

The military reported that Oufi had planned and led an attempted car bombing in the Israeli settlement of Ateret on September 2, 2024. He supplied weapons to numerous terrorists in the area and planned and coordinated a significant number of additional terrorist attacks targeting communities in Judea, Samaria, and across other areas of Israel. Oufi had been planning another imminent terrorist attack.

The Israeli military also noted that Oufi had been involved in planning and executing numerous significant and extreme terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians in Judea and Samaria, resulting in many civilian casualties.

“Oufi operated to strengthen the Hamas terrorist network and aid additional terrorists in the area in the execution of significant shooting attacks and car bombings,” the statement said.

At the same time, the IDF noted that several other vital terrorists from the network in Tulkarm were also eliminated alongside Oufi.

The elimination of terrorists and escalation in the Middle East

In recent weeks, the Israeli army has eliminated several leaders and members of Islamist groups supported by Iran, which has escalated tensions between Israel and Palestinian Hamas, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen.

On September 27, the IDF struck Beirut, eliminating Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Additionally, this strike killed Abbas Nilforoushan, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iran responded to these killings with a large-scale missile attack on Israel, launching around 180 rockets at the country.

Moreover, on October 3, Israeli forces killed one of Hezbollah’s top precision-guided missile production leaders, Mahmoud Yusef Anisi.

It’s worth noting that on July 31, Palestinian Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran by an explosive device.
