The Cabinet of Ministers of South Korea has voted to lift the state of emergency. This decision was previously demanded by the National Assembly (parliament).
This was stated in an announcement from the office of the Prime Minister of South Korea, as reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Yonhap.
"The proposal to lift the state of emergency was approved during the Cabinet meeting at 4:30 AM (Korean time - ed.)," the office's statement said.
President Yoon Suk-yeol of South Korea, who had previously signed the decree for the state of emergency, also participated in the Cabinet meeting.
Thus, just over six hours have passed since the declaration of the state of emergency in the country.
It is also noted that President Yoon Suk-yeol, who chaired the Cabinet meeting, accepted the "plan to lift the state of emergency" as required by the National Assembly.
Recall that President Yoon Suk-yeol of South Korea announced a state of emergency in his country today, December 3. According to the South Korean leader, he reacted to "anti-state forces that paralyze the main functions of the state".
In this context, military vehicles were spotted on the streets of Seoul. The work of the South Korean parliament was also blocked.
