A resident of Kharkiv will face charges for serial domestic violence.

In Kharkiv, the police have announced suspicion of domestic violence against a local man who systematically abused his partner.

This was reported by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, according to "Dumka".

According to law enforcement, the man regularly insulted and humiliated his partner. The 54-year-old resident of the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv had repeatedly reported psychological abuse to the police.

In March 2024, the offender was held accountable for inflicting minor bodily harm on the victim. However, the preventive measures and administrative actions were ignored by the perpetrator.

Throughout this year, the 54-year-old offender has repeatedly faced administrative penalties for threats of physical violence, humiliation of his partner, and using obscene language towards her. Preventive discussions, administrative fines, and warnings about stricter legal consequences had no effect on the man.

Investigators have opened a criminal case regarding domestic violence and have informed the offender of his suspicion of committing a crime.

The man now faces penalties ranging from community service to imprisonment.
