In Kharkiv region, a man attempted to set his partner on fire while she was still alive, according to police reports.

In the Kharkiv region, police apprehended a man who doused a woman with gasoline and set her on fire.

This was reported by the communication department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the police, yesterday, December 23, at 10:04, a call was received via the "102" service reporting a house on fire in the village of Bashilovka in the Lozova district.

Officers discovered that a 52-year-old man was drinking with his partner. After having consumed a significant amount of alcohol, a domestic dispute erupted between the suspect and the woman.

Without hesitation, the man grabbed a bottle of gasoline that was on the floor and poured it on the 46-year-old woman. Her clothing immediately ignited, and the fire spread to items within the house.

The victim was hospitalized, and her condition is assessed by doctors as serious.

The police detained the offender in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
