Russia launched 80 drones at Ukraine overnight from various directions; how many were shot down by air defense?

On the night of January 14, the Russian Federation launched 80 strike drones of the "Shahed" type across the territory of Ukraine. The drones were launched from four different directions.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Air Forces.

According to the Air Forces, during the night of January 14, starting from 18:30 on January 13, the enemy attacked with 80 strike drones and various types of imitation drones from the directions of Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00 on January 14, the downing of 58 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and other types of drones has been confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Kherson regions.

The downed enemy drones caused damage in the Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions. Private and multi-apartment buildings, vehicles, and civilian property were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.

It is also known that 21 enemy imitation drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).

As a reminder, yesterday air raid alerts were declared in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of a ballistic strike. The Air Forces warned of a fast-moving target that was traversing the Sumy region.

Additionally, last night explosions were heard in Kyiv and Kyiv region. At that time, air defense forces were engaging with enemy drones.

It is also known that on the night of January 13, Russian troops launched 110 UAVs of the Shahed type and imitation drones across Ukraine. The air defense forces destroyed 78 of them, while 31 were lost locally.
