Reports online have emerged regarding the abduction and beating of an employee from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS) reacted to the incident.

This information was shared by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Lviv Regional TCRSS on Facebook.

Recently, a friend of LNU employee Stepan Bilchenko claimed that his colleague was allegedly detained and kidnapped by TCRSS workers near the Stryiskyi market in Lviv while on his way to work. It is known that Bilchenko serves as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Nuclear Physics at Lviv University.

The man noted that Bilchenko was supposedly taken to the Lychakivskyi-Zhytomyr TCRSS and forced to undergo a military medical commission (MMC) within two hours.

According to him, Bilchenko was later found on the side of a road in the Zhytomyr region near Kyiv, suffering from a skull fracture and brain swelling. He is currently in critical condition.

TCRSS Reaction

The Lviv Regional TCRSS stated that Stepan Bilchenko was not registered for military service and was not eligible for a deferment since he worked as a laboratory assistant. After passing the MMC, he was taken to a military unit.

The military assures that no illegal actions were committed against the man.

"Therefore, citizen Bilchenko Stepan Borysovych was transported to the Lychakivskyi-Zhytomyr RTCSS. He underwent a military medical commission, which concluded that he was fit for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He did not present any medical or other documents that would grant him the right to a deferment," the statement reads.

The TCRSS noted that the man was taken to military unit A2900 in Zhytomyr for basic combat training.

In a comment under the publication by Bilchenko's associate, the 199th Training Center of the Air Assault Troops reported that the man had allegedly deserted the military unit on February 7 and confessed to his actions to the police. According to TCRSS representatives, the man supposedly admitted that he planned to evade service and there is supporting evidence of this fact.

It is worth noting that the military did not comment on the allegations of the beating of the Lviv university employee or the reasons for his hospitalization.

According to information obtained by RBK-Ukraine from its sources, the man jumped out of a vehicle on the road, resulting in his injury.

Scandals Involving TCRSS

Recall that recently there were claims online about the alleged murder of a young man by TCRSS employees in the Kharkiv region. The young man was supposedly attempted to be mobilized and sustained bodily harm in the process. The police deny this information.

Additionally, it was recently reported about the death of a man during the MMC. The incident occurred in the Chernivtsi region.

It should be noted that there has been a recent surge of attacks near and at TCRSS locations in Ukraine. For more on how Russia recruits saboteurs among Ukrainians and what awaits terrorists - see RBK-Ukraine's article.
